Although the tool is generic for all three weapons, it is more adapted to foil. Adapted versions for epee and sabre will be distributed later. The list of actions is not exhaustive, i.e. you may add some actions that have been omitted. Also, you may change the presentation (classification) of the actions if you prefer another order. Also, you may find this list too long and too detailed. You can work from the electronic version of the document, and simplify it. Once you've got a map of your repertoire, your objective should be to choose some new actions and to include them in your repertoire. Do not panic if you are not using all the actions in the list. This is normal. Some of these actions are seldom used anyway. Some also may be impossible to use in given situations (i.e. against certain opponents). Also, for each action, your goal should be to improve the ratings in each of the 3 following categories, which are obviously all related to each other. Your ultimate goal should be to have a balanced repertoire and to use actions from all categories. A complementary tool will be helping you to choose which actions fit to different situations, i.e. which actions are solutions to various problems you may encounter on the piste. Rate each action, on a scale of 1 to 10, as follows: Knowledge (K1 to K10) 1 = I don't know this action, I never use this action 2-3 = I've done this action at the lesson but never used it, even in practice 4-5 = I use this action sometimes in practice, but never in competition 6-7 = I use this action fairly often in practice, and sometimes in competition. I don't always think of it as a solution. 8-9 = I use this action often in practice and in competition. I often think of it as a good solution. 10 = This is one of my preferred actions, I use it all the time in competition Quality of execution (Q1 to Q10) 1 = I don't know how to execute this action. 2-3 = I can execute this action slowly at the lesson with fairly good results, but not in training bouts. 4-5 = I can execute this action well at the lesson, I am starting to use it with some success in bouts. 6-7 = I can execute this action well at the lesson with variations, I use it regularly with some success in bouts. 8-9 = I execute this action often in practice and in competition, in fitting situations. 10 = This is one of my go-to actions, I execute it very well.
